The Four Words we are thinking of this week are

  • Mumpreneurs
  • Trees
  • Plastic
  • Highland Coo.

In this episode, we talk to Suzie Gillespie of Moo Hair and Michelle Gregory of Gregory Accounting, two Scottish businesses with sustainability at the heart of what they do.

Moo Hair haircare products are all vegan, animal friendly and cruelty-free. Susie and her family have worked tirelessly to source natural ingredients that are not harmful to the environment. The products all use glass bottles, the labels are printed on recycled paper using vegetable-based inks and Moo Hair have put a lot of thought into the packaging to minimize waste. The company cares deeply about the planet and has also partnered with One Tree Planted, which plants a tree for every order received.

Michelle describes herself as an unconventional accountant, looking to work with those who want to do good in this world. She has aligned her business with UN SDG 15 – Life on Land-  in order to measure the impact a business can make & not just the profits. Michelle pays to plant a tree when each set of accounts is signed off and 2 trees if a Zoom meeting is opted for instead of face to face. She looks at a variety of ways to conduct her business in a sustainable manner, which we’ll talk more about during this episode.

We’ve brought Michelle and Susie together to discuss how they have built their businesses with sustainability at the core and why this is important to them. We think Susie and Michelle are a brilliant combinationthey share a passion for the planet and for sustainable business.
